Right now, I’m here at the Canadian Arabian Nationals, taking place from August 7–16, 2025 at the Keystone Centre in Brandon, Manitoba. This isn’t just any horse show—it’s one of the most prestigious Arabian competitions in the country, bringing together the finest riders and horses from across Canada and beyond. Everywhere I look, there’s the shimmer of polished coats, the swish of flowing tails, and the buzz of excitement in the air. The energy here is electric, and I’m soaking in every moment.

Characteristics of Arabian Horses

There are over 350 recognized horse breeds worldwide—each with its own unique strengths. But for me, nothing compares to the Arabian. They’re the perfect blend of ancient heritage, beauty, and heart.

Arabian horses are world-renowned for their beauty, endurance, and versatility. Their chiseled heads, arched necks, and proud carriage make them stand out in any crowd. But their true magic lies in their ability to connect—mirroring the mood and energy of their rider. If I’m calm, Gin J. relaxes. If I’m focused, he locks in with me.

In the competitive arena, Arabians bring unmatched spirit and stamina. They give their all, but also carry a gentle loyalty that makes them perfect companions outside the ring.

Why I Love Arabian Horses

Arabians are more than show horses—they’re partners who share in every triumph and setback. They listen with their hearts and move with instinct, making each ride a shared experience. With Gin J., it’s never just me competing—it’s us.

The Essence of a True Partnership

Gin J. isn’t just my competition partner; he’s an extension of my heart and soul. Together, we’re navigating the highs and lows of show week, embracing the thrill of the ring, and sharing those quiet barn moments that mean just as much as any ribbon. The trust we’ve built over time is what carries us through each class. Gin J. is my teammate, my teacher, and my confidant—and here in Brandon, that connection feels stronger than ever.

Arabian horses like Gin J. are exceptional not only for their athletic ability but for their emotional connection. They’re intelligent, sensitive, and deeply attuned to their riders. They don’t just follow cues—they feel you. That’s what makes showing with an Arabian so special: it’s not just about winning, it’s about partnership.

Closing Thoughts

My relationship with Gin J. reminds me so much of my work as a realtor. Success in both worlds is built on trust, communication, and understanding. Just as Gin J. reads my cues and responds with confidence, I listen to my clients’ needs and guide them toward the right decisions. In both cases, the goal is the same—building a connection strong enough to navigate challenges and reach the finish line together. Whether it’s finding the perfect home or delivering our best performance in the ring, it’s the partnership that makes the journey worthwhile.
